Grimoire

Your grimoire is your personal spell book. You need it in order to cast spells. The assumption is that you have the grimoire on your person and are carrying it in a handy location so that you can refer to it while casting.

We do not explicitly role-play the reading of the grimoire during casting. Instead think of it as a set of notes to jog your memory. You can cast any spell you know. It is implied that you may have to glance at your notes occasionally. This is one reason that more complicated spells take time to cast.

Loss or Destruction

Loss or destruction of your grimoire is a serious matter, greatly crippling your casting ability. Attempting to cast a spell while not in posession of your grimoire (or another grimoire containing the spell) results in +15 Difficulty, and doubles the Time To Cast.

However all is not lost. Grimoires can be rebuilt by wracking your brain to recall and rebuild each spell, but this takes much study and work. This requires an ample supply of paper and ink, and only one spell per day can be rebuilt this way.
