Twisted Staff
The twisted staff is a gnarled staff made of cursed vida wood. The staff sucks MP from all nearby characters except the wielder, both friend and foe. Any character within 10 meters loses 1 MP, once per six hour period (midnight-6am, 6am-noon, noon-6pm, 6pm-midnight). It drains additional MP from any opponent hit with it. The stolen points are stored in the wand for use by the wielder.
The staff contains a special defensive confuse spell plus a variation of the wither spell as a (single target) ranged attack (10 meters) at difficulty 20.
Aside from these magical effects, the staff also functions as a regular Quarterstaff weapon, with an additional 3 Magic Point drain from the target on each successful hit.

Confuse (Defensive)
When the wielder is attempting to flee, the staff will automatically attempt to confuse any pursuers within engageable melee range. The wielder's Staff Weapon Skill is rolled vs the pursuer's REASON attribute. (In the case of multiple pursuers, use the highest REASON). If the wielder succeeds he is able to disappear and escape combat.
Wither Attack
Causes any living thing to quickly grow old and wither. Deals d10 for every 10 max HP of the target creature (see table).

Using the staff to cast wither requires it be charged. It can only use stolen MP. The user need not know any spells, but must have Magery 1 or greater.
SIDE EFFECTS: Using the wither attack permanently reduces the wielder's Reason and Charisma by 1 point (each use).
