Character Creation
Use this Handy Character Template with auto-calculation! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1pgUz62OllqamhRUnWRV5MwFQkBTo2zeKFp11u2uWIZ8/edit?usp=sharing
To create a character, take 60 points and distribute them among the following attributes:
- Strength
- Constitution
- Agility
- Charisma
- Perception
- Reason
- Knowledge
- Magery
These attributes directly determine secondary characteristics such as Hit Points & Magic Points, and also affect Skill levels.
- Constitution determines HP. HP = 2 x Constitution.
- Agility determines Attack & Defense ratings.
- Most weapons skills are affected by Strength or Agility (or both).
- Magery determines MP and affects spell casting success rolls.
- Reason & Knowledge limit maximum Magery. Magery can not exceed Reason + Knowledge.
The character sheet attribute section looks like this:
It is highly recommended that the character “purchase” armor and a weapon as part of the character creation phase. Ask your GM how much money your character can start with to spend on supplies. As a worst case scenario, grab an improvised weapon such as a club or a hunting knife.
- introduce the weapons and armor sections of the character sheet
You also should give your character a few skills to start out with. Pick a few skills that you want. You start at the default level listed for that skill. During the character creation phase you also get some initial XP to spend on skill upgrades. Ask your GM how much Initial XP he allows. Typically it will range between 20 and 50. This initial XP can be spent on upgrading Skills and/or learning (and possibly upgrading) a few spells.
