Urtos spent many years investigating lycanthropy, believing it would be his fate.

Using hired alchemy and magic, Urtos eventually ended up with a single dose of a blood elixir housed in a pewter amulet.

Supposedly the elixir will cause an enhanced form of lycanthropy which allows the user to transform at will, while the amulet is worn.

Regular lunar lycanthropy is a side effect, although the user will maintain lucidity throughout albeit in a heightened crazed state similar to a berserker.
