Fountain of Ngalish

High on the cliffs below waterdeep, a roaring river spews from the cliffside. Many have tried to enter this way only to be pushed back and plunged into the crashing waves below where they are further pummeled.

Mostly forgotten rumours of a secret chamber from whence issues this flow.

The chamber is said to contain many secrets and holy relics of unimaginable power and to be guarded by one or more of the Waterdavian great houses. It is beneath the former house of phylund, and is the secret lair of Urtus III

A magic portal is the source of the river. The other end lies deep within Undermountain in level 17 of DotMM p223. The river Sargauth leaks through the stone fissures from level 3 to level 4, 5, 10, & 17 before terminating in an extended dungeon area containing the portal which is fully immersed in a deep pool.

This river acts as a drain and waste disposal of the Undermountain, so interesting tidbits often pop through the fountain.

Originally built by the same gnomish engineers and wizards who built the Skullport locks, the gnomes soon leased out the fountain to the highest bidder, on the promise of a wealth of salvage and sham biopharmaceutical components and recipes, many of which laid the foundation of Druidic traditions.
