Episode 1

  • A fight broke out in the Yawning Portal inn

The team encounter a trio of crocodiles and upon reaching the Xanathar hideout, a pair of goblins. Corporal Klegg proves to be a good source of information.

Episode 5

Feb 15 2024

Deep in the Xanathar hideout, the plot thickens when the team encounter's Esme's cousin/lover Krentz, along with the half-orc Zemk whom is a big fan of Lakdorf's music.

They pick up Floon, convince Grum'shar that Renaer doesn't know anything, avoid Nihiloor and jump through Nihiloor's portal to chapter 5 (Krentz did not come with them)

Episode 6 Xanathar's lair

March 24 2024

Having followed Nihiloor through his portal into Xanathar's lair, the team decide to enjoy the gladiator tournament, but after the first bout they steal the show - performing an impromptu half-time show which causes a dance party during which they rescue the prisoners and flee to Skullport, where the meet Patience at the Guts and Garters.

The take a long rest and level up (to lvl 6)

Episode 7

The next morning, Staget & Klegg escort the prisoners to Waterdeep for a proper interrogation. Floon goes with them, but Renaer and to stay with the party explore the docks. They find Renaer's ship “the chance”, help the gnomes fix the locks and sailing to Waterdeep where the party takes possession of TrollSkull manor, allowing “Lif”, the ghostly former owner to bartend. They are going to pursue options including Yagra as general manager.

Fala, the nextdoor apothecary, is keen to help and to partner with the tavern with herb infused cocktails and hosting community events in the alley. Fala's friend and occasional boarder, the Zhentarim agent Ziraj works with Davil (and Yagra) and helps convince them to move from the Yawning Portal to TrollSkull

Episode 8

June 2, 2024

During the downtime the establishing of the Trollskull Tavern has been coming together. All players earn an extra skill, their choice of:

  • Acumen (WIS) or
  • Entrepreneurship (CHA)

at +1 above their base attribute bonus.

When the players arrive back at the docks, the crew is securing the last few barrels - four barrels of live lobsters for a client in Baldur's gate.

Renaer hastily disembarking from the Chance and breathlessly informs the party that he has secured their comfort for the trip, but sadly he must stay in Waterdeep to attend to business. He gives them a list of his favorite taverns in Baldur's Gate; “the Rainbow Unicorn”, and “the Jaws Of Death”

As they are casting off, the dockhand passes the manifest to the harbourmaster who (on a perception check) can be heard to joke “Chult eh? I wouldn't be caught dead there THESE days!”

The trip to Baldur's Gate takes 4-5 days. On the way an Aboleth named Eemmaat dispatches a couple of their Skum to attack the ship, killing a couple of crew members and knocking Malmac down to 0 HP, requiring a “Heal” spell from Ak. A dwarven crewman was charmed by Eemmaat and heard to mumble “where's Golorr?”

the team levelled up to 7 after a tremendous battle.

Episode 9 Baldur's Gate

July 14 2024

Docking at Baldur's Gate, the team follows Ender who meets with Syndra Silvane. Syndra has spotted a pattern in the sicknesses - only those who had previously died are affected. This is a surprising large percentage of Baldur's Gate whose population is largely current or former adventurers. Syndra believes the source to be in Chult. (see ToA p8) She gives Ender some books and a map about Chult including a legend of Tamoachan temple. (see TftYP p61)

Sailing towards Chult, they succeed in defeating a Harpy, which pisses off the harpie's Hag.

Episode 10 Sailing to Chult

Sailing to Port Nyanzaru takes d20 days. But there are delays by…

  • Pirate attack - the pirate ship Dragonfang attacks the team, led by Captain Fury. See pirates. See ToA p 17

The team towed the Dragon tooth to Port Naranyu and we're offered 2000 GP for it (which is a shitty deal)

Episode 11 Port Nyanzaru

arrived at https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Port_Nyanzaru and hired two guides:

  1. Qawasha the druid and his vegepygmie, Kupalue which Lakdorf thinks looks edible.
  2. Hew Hackinstone, who will make the team take “a quick detour” to redeem his family's mine.

Lakdorf purchased a Triceratops named “Terry” who is now towing three canoes up the River Soshenstar toward…

  5. Hrakhamar and Wyrmheart Mine

The first couple days they almost ran into a T-Rex, and killed 3 zombies in the river.

Episode 12

Nov 14 2024

Begin druidic discovery (ToA p 205) 1 per day

Hackinstone takes the opportunity to suss out if anyone in the party understands Dwarven.

During the night an undead horde literally stumble over the camp, but they manage to polymorph the zombie T-Rex into a bunny.

The female half-orc wears the priestly robes of a cleric of Torm, emblazoned with a gold-embroidery gauntlet symbol

Undril Silvertusk1) needs an escort to Camp Vengeance to deliver a package to Commander Breakbone.

Episode 13 - Camp Righteous

Along the way, the party finds Camp Righteous in ruins. ToA p 43. but populated by goblins see MM p 166 using Batiri battle stack tactics (ToA p 13) and thievery(they will steal the canoes if they get a chance). This area is mainly a puzzle trap.

Episode 14 - Camp Vengeance

Camp vengeance is very narrative and NPC driven.

ToA p47

Mainly, commander Breakbone and his two captains, who argue about the possible location of the list city of Omu.

  • Perne Salhana believes Omu to be two days east - actually the ruins of Tamoachan (TftYP p61)
  • Ord Firebeard (dwarf veteran) believes it is far to the south. Hackinstone secretly confides in Ord Firebeard, to convince him to join his quest to Wyrmheart Mine.
  • Undril argues for returning the wounded to Port Naranzayu, using the party's canoes.

Episode 15 - Lost Cities

Feb 2 2025

Kretz showed up and told Esme to come with him, as he knows who killed her father. She and Ak escorted the sick from Camp Vengeance back down the river.

Following Salhana's trail, the party meet a Hobgoblin Warlord, hired to protect the ancient temple by an unknown benefactor. With a musical performance they persuade him to lead them to the lost temple known to him as Tamoachan.

Episode 16 - Tamoachan

March 9 2025

Episode 16 starts with the floor having given way and the party dropped into the dusty temple ruins. Salhana also fell in.

The hobgoblin did not fall in and is not allowed to enter the temple. Salhana also fell in.

The room holds 6 zombies, 5 of which are wearing Order of The Gauntlet tunics. 3 of the order have magic items

Another hole in the ceiling has a grappling hook hanging down.

Poison gas does not trigger yet, until they trigger the cave-in in the next room.

Episode 17

The party awakens in an empty stone room. Long Rest restored slots and HP but they also took 4HP dmg due to poison, so restored to max - 4.

PER check 5 - Their backs and hips are sore.

Only Xundia, Malmac, and Koulardin vaguely recall a dream of a sandy beach. Other party members have memory loss. What's the last thing they remember? Hew recalls meeting Ord Firebeard.

WIS 15 - The Nereid was apparently a hallucination?

PER 5 - All their coin purses are missing. Salhana, Qawasha, and Kupalue are missing.

There is a decent amount of monsters in the rest of the temple, including an imp sent to track down Atropol.


Stuff For Later

  • If they return to camp vengeance they can get canoes to contimue up the Soshenstar River & cut through the Aldani Basin swamps, but will likely lose Terry.
  • Hackinstone is getting annoyed by the dilly dallying and wants to cut straight to the mountains. If the party concedes, they will need to bushwhack to Mbala (ToA p72). The path up to Mbala is too narrow for dinosaurs.

In either case head down the river Tath to Ataaz Kahakla (ToA p41) then into the mines beneath Jahaka Mountin's East Peak. This requires infiltrating the Zhentarim's poorly managed mining operations which is not terribly difficult. From here, well mapped Dwarven mining tunnels run straight and smooth, allowing a quick 4 day jog to Hrakhamar. The other options are the coastal route that takes 9 days.

After taking Wyrmheart Mine, another 8-9 days through the valley of lost honor nearly due east to Omu. With random encounters on ToA p193 #5

in the Tomb - beware of tomb dwarves, meet up with eemmaat on level 5 (Gears of Hate) p174 (aka G'lyh'rul) who talks to them regarding his quest for Golorr
