===== Remy ===== Remy is the owner/proprietor of the [[Ancient Artifacts]] shop in Prince's Crossing. Remy can be befriended to reveal a wealth of knowledge of all things ancient, mystical, and magical. Remy will not join adventures. He seldom leaves his shop, and suffers leg pain. Remy is loosely affiliated with [[Willow]] and the two share a [[magi]] renown pool. Remy knows a fair bit ABOUT magic but has almost no experience. He MIGHT be able to figure out how to cast a cantrip or level 1 spell, given a lot of time. However, most local mage's are his customers, so Remy knows better than most where mages have been rumored to abide. He has sold several scrolls to mages, and his personal collection includes several scrolls and grimoires. He is likely not willing to part with them, or even disclose their existence to strangers or acquaintances, but may lend them to a friend. Remy knows of the existence of the underground; at least the parts near the city and castle, and of the wilderness caves. In fact, [[Ancient Artifacts]] sub-basement connects to the old tunnels, though it may contain a few monsters. He collects relics and will purchase treasures and information. Remy has a few magic weapons that he is considering parting with. The price tag is half the total party wealth ---- === Story Arc === //SPOILER ALERT// * Couldn't Remy learn a healing spell and heal his leg pain? * Is he somehow incapable of magic? * Does he have some kind of belief holding him back from healing? * Is guilt punishing himself for some past failure? * How did he get the injury? Who else was injured? Was it all his fault? * How will he react if an adventurer offers to heal him? * His love of magic is somehow a love/hate relationship? Possible arc: - he is injured and tortured by unacknowledged pining to return to adventuring. - he is alone after accidentally causing the death of his party and his true love. - he lives in self imposed isolation, shunning close connection, racked by guilt and fear. - adventurers are becoming more common, due to favorable political influences. - his shop traffic is increasing. - he considers closing up and moving away. - he wrestles with it, unwilling to go the full distance of giving up his ancient magical dreams. - (perhaps actual dreams factor into this) - a persistent adventurer (who?) gradually breaks through his shell (how?) - he finally concedes to healing - he begins to dream of adventure - (he literally regains old dreams of the [[city of glass]])
