===== Sword of Truth =====

The Sword of Truth is an enchanted item imbued with several spells from the "Truth" category. The sword of truth allows the bearer to use most of the Truth spells (in a slightly limited fashion)

=== Usage ===
Using the Sword of Truth requires no MP. The user need not know any of the spells involved. The user need only have Magery 1 or greater.

The sword automatically emits a low vibration when a lie is spoken in it's presence. ([[magic:spells:truth#Detect Lie]]). When this occurs, if held vertically near the ear, the sword will [[magic:spells:truth#Detect Truth]] and will mold it's vibrations into a quietly whispered key word of truth.

This same position can be used in the presence of a unknown spoken language, to [[magic:spells:truth#Translate Speech]]. Again, a few key words will be whispered.

The sword glows dimly when on a [[magic:spells:portal#Detect Locus|Locus]].

The sword can be used like a "compass" to find direction, magic objects, hidden objects and enemies by holding the sword steady and slowly pointing it in different directions. The bearer must speak one of the following phrases:

  * [[magic:spells:truth#Detect Magic]]
  * [[magic:spells:truth#Detect Hidden Object]]
  * [[magic:spells:truth#Detect Enemies]]

One further effect is that the owner of the sword has a chance (roll 18 or higher on a d20) of [[magic:spells:truth#Dream Truth]] every time he sleeps.

Creating this item requires a mastery of blacksmithing (skill > 20), and a large power stone.
