The Seven Daughters of Eve: The Science That Reveals Our Genetic Ancestry by Bryan Sykes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Fascinating summary of how mitochondrial DNA fits into the story or human evolution and population dynamics. A few of the the conclusions have since been reversed experimentally (re Neanderthal), but it hardly lessens the impact of this book.
The fictional characterizations are a believable, interesting, and empathic glimpse into the lifestyle of early man.
