Joey Madia

Joey Madia is a novelist, screenwriter, playwright, actor, historical educator, storyteller, and director. He has written narratives and designed the puzzles for Escape Rooms in North Carolina, Scotland, and the Mothman Museum in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, based on literature and historical events.

He has written several main stage musicals, dramas, and novels, and has appeared in, directed, and written well over 100 plays and a dozen projects on camera.

He is founding Artistic Director of Seven Stories Theatre Company, Inc. and was Resident Playwright at Youth Stages, LLC for 12 years. He is the author of five books on using theatre in the classroom.

As a teaching-artist he has taught and mentored thousands of students in theatre and creative writing and has spoken at many schools and national conferences. He has worked with organizations including The Epilepsy Foundation of NJ and Camp NOVA to bring theatre to students with disabilities and has won three writing awards from Very Special Arts of NJ.
